Awani premiered at Ake festival and was shown 2 days in a row. Ake is a literary and arts festival that attracts over 3000 visitors in Nigeria, Africa and the world.
Awani also premiered at the same time as Ake in Yale University to an audience of filmmakers, professors and university students
This is one of the largest film festivals in West Africa and the third largest in Africa. AFRIFF attracts, filmmakers, movie lovers, and distributors from all over Africa.
The messaging of Awani is for all women including the youth. Awani partnered with Zonta to host a screening at Queen’s College, Lagos to a class of 70 girls.
WAVE is a skills learning initiative and we screened the film to staff and the students
This is the largest documentary festival in Africa that invites filmmakers all over the world. Awani was meant to be screened once and ended up being screened twice by popular demand.
The Afrika film festival is the oldest festival in Europe dedicated to African cinema and it was an honour to be part of this festival more so we won a UNESCO prize. This included a cash prize and our film being translated to French and Dutch and distribution on Belgian television.
Awani was screened at Women empowerment forum that attracts 3000 professional women looking to advance their career. This event was very focused on the business community
